in the last weekTato, a cheerful Spanish bar we discovered in Marutamachi Kawaramachi. Located near the intersection of Marutamachi and Kawaramachi, this casual Spanish restaurant is perfect for a quick stop. With three table seats and a casual standing area, I was drawn there for just one drink. I had marinated octopus with white wine. The crisp, acidic marinade paired perfectly with the fruity white wine—the perfect treat to end the day. The chef's cheerfulness is particularly noteworthy! The entire restaurant is permeated with positive energy. There's a map of Japan inside, with pins placed where customers come from. This playful hospitality really put my mind at ease, even on my first visit. Although it was an unexpected visit, it was a wonderful experience that made me feel "worth it" even if it was just for a short time. Next time, I'd like to sit down and enjoy the other dishes.

2 weeks agoI'd been curious about it, so I dropped by the other day. When I arrived at opening time, there was still something going on in the back, so I quietly opened the door and asked what time it opened. They replied, "Oh, I want to know that too!" (lol) I was oddly impressed, knowing it was Espanyol, and when I returned a little later, they welcomed me with a loud voice. Well, this might be the restaurant in Kyoto with the loudest chef (lol)—no, I mean that in a good way. As others have said, this isn't the place for those looking for a quiet meal and drink (lol). The food and drinks were excellent. It made me think that maybe bars in Spain have a similar atmosphere.

3 weeks agoThis is a Spanish restaurant run by a fun owner. I think the food is casual and enjoyable. However, it seems like the opening hours vary, so be careful.
