ALDO Azabudai Hills is a refined Peruvian restaurant located on the 3rd floor of Azabudai Hills Tower Plaza in Tokyo. It is helmed by Chef Aldo Urata, a third-generation Japanese-Peruvian from Trujillo, Peru, who draws inspiration from the traditional recipes passed down from his grandmother and mother. After gaining experience with Mexican cuisine and other international flavors, he opened the original ALDO in Kita-Aoyama in 2016 and expanded to the Azabudai Hills location in November 2023. 2 weeks agoVisited on a weekday in March 2026 I'd never eaten Peruvian food before, so I decided to go out of curiosity. For lunch, you can choose from six menu items (there seems to be a set course as well). The most popular dish is apparently Peruvian-style stir-fried beef and vegetables. Peru has a large Chinese immigrant population, so there are many dishes with soy sauce flavor. My companion chose this stir-fry, and I chose the chicken in yellow chili cream sauce. Yellow chili peppers seem to be quite famous, so I was curious. The taste was exotic and unlike anything I'd ever tasted before, but it was also a flavor that was easy for Japanese people to enjoy. The cream sauce was somewhere between a stew and a curry. It was very easy to eat. I thought the Parmesan cheese on top as a garnish was unnecessary, though. I also tried the stir-fried meat and vegetables, and it had a strange combination of soy sauce and cumin! Delicious. It was different from both Chinese and Indian food. The restaurant has relatively few seats, so it's best to go early or at a slightly off-peak time!
