Located in the heart of Shibuya, The Cabin is a lively Mexican eatery that brings the flavors of authentic street-style tacos to Tokyo. Run by Mexican chef Haim Cifuentes, the restaurant has become a go-to spot for those craving real Mexican food in a casual and social setting.

The concept combines a taco truck atmosphere with the convenience of a sit-down restaurant. Guests can enjoy classics like tacos al pastor with pineapple, carnitas, chorizo, Baja-style fish, and seasonal specialties such as ceviche or tortilla soup. Fresh ingredients and bold flavors make each dish stand out, while creative touches — like tempura fish tacos — add a modern twist.

Situated in front of ØL by Oslo Brewing Co., La Cabina also offers an excellent range of craft beers, making it an ideal place for both food lovers and those looking for a vibrant hangout spot. The setting is casual and welcoming, with indoor tables and an outdoor terrace that captures the lively Shibuya vibe.

While the restaurant can get crowded during evenings and weekends, its energetic atmosphere and high-quality food have earned it a strong reputation among both locals and international visitors. Prices are mid-range, typically around ¥2,000-¥3,000 per person, depending on how many tacos and drinks you order.

La Cabina is more than just a meal — it's an experience that celebrates Mexican street culture in the heart of Tokyo.

Absolutely lovely little spot for some authentic Mexican food (which I didn't expect in Japan). You can tell everything that you come out of that van is super fresh and homemade. I worked having at a Mexican restaurant myself in the past I loved it. Had the Al Pastor and my gf (who's vegan) had the Veg tacos (today's veg was some lovely mushroom, she very much enjoyed). Also got some tortilla chips and guacamole (which was also incredibly fresh and zesty). The van is also parked outside a really cool looking bar which although we didn't personally get any drinks has an absolute INSANE amount of choices and next time we're back in Tokyo we'll definitely be hitting up the bar! To top of all off the decor was cool and playing some sweet music! Also the staff were lovely and accommodating and friendly. 10/10. Definitely coming back next time we're in Tokyo. Thanks for having us!

The BEST tacos ever - coming from an American who grew up in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood.
