El Tarro Cafe is a small family-run bar in Yokosuka’s Wakamatsu-cho. Enjoy a “family-like atmosphere” with the owner’s warm hospitality, tacos made to order, authentic Mexican cuisine, and an extensive cocktail menu. The cool cantina-style basement ambiance is a hit, and their tandoori-style dishes and spicy tamales are popular. It’s a hidden gem beloved by over 25 locals.

hace 4 mesesGreat authentic Mexican food in a cool underground cantina atmosphere. This is not the same place/food that was in the same location before. If you have tried this place I would highly recommend for the cool vibes, delicious homemade food options, and decent drink prices. Pictured is the Tandor taco, but I can also recommend the slightly spicy tamales and steak tacos, too. Definitely plan to return, again!

hace un añoDelicious authentic tacos, great atmosphere, decor, and fantastic service. After a long day in the pouring rain, we came across this restaurant on our search for tacos and for me it was genuinely the highlight of our day trip to Yokosuka. It is run by the most wonderful couple and we even got to sing karaoke. 🎶 Such a hidden treasure!

hace un añoI can’t believe our luck in finding this place. This place is own and ran by a family from Mexico City. Mamma does all the cooking and it is true amazing authentic Mexican. No Tex Mex here. The burrito and taco pastor were close to the top Mexican I have had and I’m surrounded by good Mexican food back home. The drinks were strong the food amazing and the hospitality of this family is absolutely wonderful. We are going to go back to say good bye have one more drink just because we loved the family so much.

Hace 7 mesesIf you’re looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in a warm and inviting setting, this is the place to go! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a cozy atmosphere and the aroma of fresh, homemade dishes. The owners are truly amazing—they’re not just running a restaurant, they’re sharing their culture and passion through their food. Every dish is bursting with flavor and made with love. You can taste the authenticity in every bite, from the perfectly seasoned tacos to the rich, flavorful mole. And let’s talk about the margaritas—they are absolutely phenomenal! Perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, and made with fresh ingredients, they are hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Whether you go for the classic or try one of their unique flavors, you won’t be disappointed. What really sets this place apart is the heart behind it. The owners make you feel like family, and their pride in sharing their heritage shines through in everything they do. If you want incredible food, amazing drinks, and an unforgettable experience, this restaurant is a must-visit!
