a year agoWe have been living in Japan almost 15 years and traveling to Kyoto pretty often for business and leisure. This time we were looking for European food and cozy atmosphere for our dining out. Stumbled upon this beautiful Spanish restaurant in the center of Kyoto and were totally amazed. Vibe and atmosphere feels like home, decor of the place is amazing, food is tasty and super high quality. Be ready to wait for your dishes because it takes time for Chef to cook and serve you, but it’s totally worthy. This is the place to visit for both food and experience. We ordered several dishes included probably the most popular here, paella, and every time we’re surprised about the quality and taste. Antonio, super talented Chef, definitely knows what he is doing. And it was really cool to feel a piece of Spain in the middle of Japan. Olives here probably the best in my life , and I’ve visited almost 50 countries for travel including several trips to Spain and local villages there. I’d definitely recommend this place if 1) you are tired of Japanese food and want quality Spanish dishes 2) look for a great restaurant for a date with your partner 3) any family members who wants kids to taste super quality ingredients while parents enjoy tasty wine and food. Tony, I hope to see interviews with you and amazing restaurant you build over 20 years in more Japanese and English magazines so people know you! Thank you for the experience!

7 months agoPromised “the best Spanish food in Kyoto” and definitely delivered! The tapas and paella we ordered were so delicious (compliments to Chef!) and we had excellent service from Mia, who was so sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. Live in London but if we ever return to the city (and hope to do so) we will come again!

a year agoWe were recommended by a friend who lived in Kyoto to come here for "good Spanish food in Kyoto". We were skeptical at first but after right now, we are "Antonio-Converts!" - The ingredients used are really of quality and the tastes of the sauces and food are really yummilicious! The multilingual service staff is really helpful to introduce each dish and is super friendly and lovely. Despite being a two-person team, the chef and server were able to handle the patrons; it was almost full by the time we left. We did not mind waiting as we were told to anticipate some waiting time. One trick is to go to google map or google page, click on reserve or message the restaurant in advance and inform them at least a few hours before your arrival, especially if you are interested in the paella. I ordered my paella ahead of time and informed the staff of my arrival timing. (Trust me, if you have only dish to order for the night, you need to go for the paella!) The 9-set tapas were really colourful and tasty; Also recommended if you did not get to order the paella in time. Did I tell you the about the creme brûlée and the rooibos tea yet?
