I had a paella lunch in a cast iron pot at a restaurant specializing in a wide variety of paella. I ordered the classic seafood dish, an authentic creation that takes about 30 minutes to prepare. And what arrived...a paella chock-full of seafood! The seafood flavor was robust, with just the right amount of saltiness and savory umami! The large shrimp were cooked to a crisp and had a smoky flavor. Clams, squid, mussels... It was delicious on its own, but a quick squeeze of lemon added a refreshing touch. The heat was just right, preventing the rice from sticking, and it was truly delicious! Contrary to its exterior, the interior was surprisingly spacious and open. While waiting for my paella to be prepared, I enjoyed a salad and other snacks, making for a fulfilling experience. Casual Cast Iron Pot Paella Lunch - Seafood (2,350 yen)

I had it for lunch! It's hard to find a single-serving paella, so it's my favorite. Some people say the soup is bland, but I loved it. It's low in salt and has a sour taste that brings out the flavor of the vegetables. The charred part of the paella was delicious. This time I had Spanish pork, so next time I'd like to try seafood.

To be honest, my impression of the restaurant has changed quite a bit since I went there. If you ask me if I'd go back again, I probably wouldn't. A friend made the reservation for us, and as it was our first time, we were both looking forward to it, but the reservation was made entirely via smartphone. (Although this is understandable) the staff were not at all friendly. Furthermore, the soy milk croquettes didn't feel freshly fried, and although we shared the seafood paella, the two clams my friend tried had sand in them and were very crunchy. The restaurant may have a great atmosphere and history, but even though it was our first time, we were left with many questions. It's a shame.
