Taco Petes en Chatan is a cozy bar-restaurant famous for its pork Chili Verde and made-to-order tacos. Guests praise the friendly crew (Lala gets special shout-outs), the compact counter seating and a curated drink selection that pairs well with each dish. Portions are quality-focused and slightly premium-priced, but the flavor and atmosphere—perfect for a casual night—make it worth a visit. Expect attentive service, authentic tastes, and a neighborhood feel that keeps regulars coming back.

3 months agoGreat place for good Mexican food. The pork Chili Verde was hands down the best item on the menu. It had so much delicious flavor, I would have rather had more of that than a taco. The prices are a little higher than most other places, particularly the tacos. They are filled well, but I can't say that constitutes the upcharge. They have a small bar on-site with a good selection. The staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for the vibe. They only have one table for seating, but a good amount of counter seating is available.

2 months agoBest taco spot on Okinawa! Taco Pete’s has it all—the atmosphere, the crew, and especially Lala ! She’s super friendly and really knows her stuff. If you haven’t tried Taco Pete’s yet, you’re missing out. They offer a great variety of tacos and a flavorful drink menu to match. I’ll definitely be back for more taco rounds!

2 months agoTaco Pete’s is a hidden gem in Okinawa! I tried the tacos and they were delicious—possibly the best I’ve had on the island. The Mojitos were a 6/10, and the Horchata was a 7/10. The flavors were fresh and authentic, everything was made to order, and the staff was friendly! The only downside is the pricing. The portions are a bit on the small side for the price, especially when compared to other nearby spots. That said, the quality does help justify it, and I’d still go back in a heartbeat. If you’re craving tacos in Okinawa, this place is worth a visit!

2 months agoHoly wow!!!! Best tacos on island and I do not say this lightly… I’ve been here for 19 years and am a SoCal girl who has been seriously missing good tacos. The blue corn tortillas are on point. The barbacoa taco & birria taco were insanely delicious. The owners are friendly and make you feel right at home. This is my new favorite neighborhood restaurant!

6 months agoHomemade blue corn tortillas, great atmosphere, wide selection of tacos, sides and guisado plates. One of the best taco spots I’ve ever had, not just in Okinawa but in general. Have eaten tacos all over California, many other states, and Mexico. This rivals many of those spots. Spicy is legitimately spicy, and a great contrast to what’s considered spicy in Okinawa. Mild is great as well. Portions are great. Birria is not oily and heavy.
