El Borracho Cantina Hakata Branch is a spot in the Hakata area where you can enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine. Their staples like Pastor, Synchronizada, and Palijada are exceptionally well-executed, and even desserts like Omelette Taco Rice and Banana Chimichanga leave a lasting impression. With its bright, cheerful atmosphere and extensive menu, it’s perfect for days when you want to share diverse flavors with friends.

a week agoWe stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, having seen the menu displayed outside. The prices seemed reasonable, and we weren't very hungry. The restaurant wasn't very busy, so we were seated quickly. My friend and I each ordered a taco, but when it came time to order, the waitress made it clear that we absolutely had to order a drink each. We found this surprising, but since it's a bar/restaurant, we accepted it. When the waiter brought our drinks, he also placed a plate of chips and salsa on the table, which we hadn't ordered. We assumed it was complimentary and part of the drink order requirement. The tacos were decent, although rather small, but that didn't bother us since we weren't very hungry. However, the meat in the chorizo taco wasn't chorizo at all, but merguez sausage. We were quite happy until the bill arrived: 3900 yen. Since the two tacos were 900 yen each and the drinks were 600 yen, we didn't immediately understand how we'd arrived at that amount. It turns out that the chips placed on our table without explanation weren't complimentary at all, but were charged at 400 yen per person (for a small bowl). This left a bad taste in our mouths, and we felt ripped off. Therefore, I do not recommend this restaurant.

3 weeks agoI went in because it looked like I could get in right away during weekday lunch hours. I ordered the omelet roast chicken taco rice. I don't dislike the atmosphere of the restaurant. The glasses and stuff are cute. The lunch menu said that the french fries and soup were all-you-can-eat, so I thought, "Oh, really?" and went to the corner where they were supposed to be, but the staff didn't explain anything, so I think if I hadn't noticed that sentence on the menu, I would have been left with nothing. The taco rice was a little too salty for me. It said that extra rice was free, so maybe it would have been just right if I had ordered the extra rice.

3 weeks agoA foreign employee made a mistake when I paid for my purchase, but didn't even apologize. I only realized it after I left, so I went back and had another employee redo the transaction. I think they should properly train their employees before letting them work the register.

a month agoUnfortunately, our order was forgotten, and a table that arrived after us received the same dish before we did. When we asked about it, the staff spoke only Japanese despite previously communicating with us in English. When I said I couldn’t understand, they simply replied that they couldn’t understand either, so we eventually gave up trying to get an explanation. We were also charged for the chips and salsa 420yen per person without being informed in advance that it's not free. In addition, the bill was incorrect and we were overcharged, which we only noticed after checking the receipt. The difference was later refunded in cash. The food was okay not special, but the service, communication, and billing accuracy need improvement. Had I read the reviews beforehand, I probably would not have chosen this restaurant. I hope other customers will not have to go through the same experience.
