Niku-Mon

We ordered the wagyu steak cubes. No marbeling at all, not even worth A2 rating. If you compare it to the pictures from their menu it felt like a scam. Besides we have eaten in many Yakiniku places, never have we had so bad meat. We even told them it is chewy and not tender at all…

The Wagyu plate and Wagyu Nigiri was absolutely divine. And kimchi plus garlic rice for side dishes are the most fantastic choice. The service is very friendly. We had four days in Kyoto and went here two times. That says it all.

Extremely friendly place, be prepared to take your shoes off and get cozy at this yakiniku restaurant. The hospitality made me feel like I was one of the locals, waiter was hilarious! Food is absolutely amazing, I forked out the 3000yen for the two pieces of A5 Wagyu sushi and let me tell you, it was like eating butter. Extremely smooth, fantastic marbling on the meat. I was afraid at first because it was the first time I've ever eaten raw beef but the waiter assured it was safe.

The beef here was amazingly good. The staff were friendly and welcoming. A convenient one bus ride from our hotel close to Kyoto train station. Ask for the English menu. It was a great meal to help us relax after dealing with the hordes of other tourists.

The staff was friendly. We recommend you make a reservation. It's a good place to enjoy while drinking rather than eating. The meat doesn't even smell.
