Harry’s Junction

I always think it is fun to go to an American themed restaurant in other countries. It’s usually a hilarious experience. This was not. This was not hilarious at all. It was amazing. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was wonderful and it was some of the best American food I’ve had anywhere, including in the United States. Service was delightful.

The burgers and fries were delicious. The bacon wasn’t the American bacon but it was good. The milk shakes were smaller than expected for the price but were a wonderful dessert (chocolate mint shakes). The atmosphere was lovely and the employees were helpful and delivered excellent service.

The food was okay. The burger is just average burger and nothing special. Onion rings came out over cooked. It was very hard. The fries were decent because it was seasoned with cajun powder. The beef taco is okay. The tortilla is not heated and the coleslaw is cold that it makes the entire taco feel cold. The seasoning is mainly bbq sauce. I wouldn't mind eating there again when I am really craving fries but not a place I will go often. the price seems a bit high for the quality of the food.

So I'm not gonna lie, I think this might be the best burger place I've been to in Japan, as of this writing. These boyos get burgers.

I had their Harry's Burger, which I thought was delicious. The patty was good and juicy, and the sauce ran over in just the right way. I only wish it was bigger.

I also tried their burger fries. I don't remember what the actual menu item is called, but it's basically a plate of fries with the innards of a burger scattered over them. Chunks of patty meat, tomato, lettuce, mayo, the works. It was amazing, and I've thought about driving back out to Matsushima just for this.

The staff are super friendly and seem happy doing what they're doing. I asked for a drink on the menu and it turned out to be sold out; as a make good, they brought me a free bottle of soda! Now that's service. Also, the interior decor has flavor.

A bit pricy, but that's just the reality of foreign food in Japan.

Came across this place as a local recommended it to us as a place nearby to eat (we were staying on the other side of Matsushima) and explained the owner travels overseas often to compete in food competitions. It was an amazing recommendation; the burgers were fantastic, the staff were very friendly and the shop itself was very cool inside with lots of memorabilia. Also had an excellent playlist going with lots of skate punk and pop punk. Fully recommend if you're in the area!
