Desperados Mexican Restaurant and Bar

All the dishes were delicious.

I’m not sure if people have lived in Japan too long and have forgotten what Mexican food tastes like, but this was not great. It’s hard to believe some of these reviews . I hadn’t been here in probably 20 years. The place I usually go was booked so I came here as a last resort, and that’s what the experience felt like. The service was fine, the atmosphere was fine, although some Mexican music would’ve been better than U2’s greatest hits. I got the basic nachos which were ok but it seems like something I could’ve made at home. There was t much flavor so I had to grab the Tapatio hot sauce off the bar to make it better. I didn’t know bland Mexican food existed until I got my enchiladas. The beef wasn’t seasoned at all. The rice and beans were just ok but again, Tapatio saved the day. At least my cranberry soda was good.

The place is a little hidden but you can taste a small portion from Mexico in Japan, you can buy corona and Modelo especial, the quesadillas are tasty, and I am sure other food in the menu is also tasty, if you are looking for real mexican, well this might no be the place, this is actually tex-mex style food, but is doesn't matter, just relax and eat nachos
