in the last weekOsso Brasil is a Brazilian restaurant located in the Sakae area of Nagoya. Founded in 2006, this restaurant has been serving authentic Brazilian cuisine in Nagoya since a time when Brazilian cuisine was not as well known in Japan as it is today. Rather than flashy presentations, the restaurant's focus is on serving familiar dishes enjoyed in Brazilian homes and on the streets in as authentic a form as possible. The menu offers a wide range of dishes, from churrasco to appetizers, light meals, and stews, allowing guests to experience Brazilian food culture in a multifaceted way. The dish that made the biggest impression on me that day was the coxinha (chicken croquette). Coxinha is a classic in Brazil, a dish often enjoyed in street diners and homes. The croquette is made by wrapping shredded, spiced chicken filling in flour-based dough and deep-frying it. The name comes from its resemblance to a chicken thigh. Osso Brasil's coxinha was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The chicken inside had fine fibers, was not dry, and retained a strong flavor, which was impressive. The dough was not too heavy, so it could be eaten like a snack but was still very satisfying. It's not flashy, but it does a good job of recreating the "everyday taste" of Brazilian cuisine. As it was before dinner, I wasn't able to try the whole roast chicken. The food at this restaurant makes it clear why they've been in business for so long. This is a restaurant that is easy to visit for both those familiar with Brazilian cuisine and first-timers, and allows you to experience the culture at its best.

a week agoThe whole roasted chicken is the most delicious! Whenever I go to Osu, this is the place to go when I'm craving chicken. The spicy sauce is also really delicious and goes really well with it. The restaurant has a slightly intimidating atmosphere, but they've now switched to self-checkouts, making it easier to order. We order a half portion for two people, and when we feel a little unsatisfied, we enjoy going around to other restaurants to try our food.
