3 meses agoTacos Azul in Ebisu is something truly special. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality set the tone for what became an unforgettable experience.
We had the pleasure of meeting Rika, whose warmth and genuine kindness made the experience even more memorable. That level of care and attention is something you feel throughout the entire meal.
We started with the shirasu and egg tacos—an unexpected and beautifully executed fusion that immediately set the bar high. My mom had the chilaquiles with avocado and egg, which were comforting yet elevated, and I went with the Wagyu beef taco and Wagyu lengua taco—both were absolute standouts: rich, tender, and deeply flavorful. You can truly taste the quality in every bite, with imported ingredients from Mexico and freshly milled corn masa bringing an authenticity that’s rare to find.
What stood out just as much were the details—the tortillas prepared with care on a beautiful copper cooking surface, and the thoughtfully chosen Japanese ceramics that perfectly matched the restaurant’s vision.
The drinks and desserts were just as impressive. The nopal drinks were refreshing and unique, the amazake atole had a warm, almost oatmeal-like comfort, and the warm chilate was the perfect way to end the meal—rich, smooth, and satisfying.
What made it even more special was the atmosphere. We ended up having a great conversation with the owner and a local clothing shop owner, and by the time we left, it felt like we had made new friends.
This wasn’t just a meal—it was a full experience of flavor, culture, and genuine human connection. Easily a 10/10. I’ll absolutely be back.

2 años agoAlthough Tacos Bar is spiritually a Mexican restaurant, the food is clearly drawing upon a wide range of international sources for inspiration. I attended a special event set menu and was blown away at the taste and creativity with each item I tasted - each item more impressive than the last. It seems some of the key main ingredients (for the tacos, for instance) are imported from Mexico, and the quality of preparation is outstanding. Marco, the owner and chef, is a treasure - and the overall restaurant vibe is comfortable.
I'm shocked they doesn't have a Michelin star yet. But I'd definitely recommend checking it out now before it does, because you might not ever get a reservation when that day inevitably comes!
