in the last weekFor a long time this restaurant was saved in my list of places to go. I wish I had not waited so long! The food is absolutely fabulous, and I will be returning to try everything on the menu. There are only four tables and a couple of seats at the counter. So I would recommend calling ahead to make a reservation. The menu is not too big, yet my date and I struggled to make a choice. Written primarily in Japanese and English with well-taken photos, our mouths were watering well before our food arrived. Since we couldn't decide on individual platters, we ordered the Appetizers of the Day and the Grilled Meats Platter to share. The Appetizers were so delicious and were perfect for two to share. The hummus was fresh and flavorful. The pork with cracked black pepper paired well with the Dijon mustard. Everything down to the olives was very tasty. We took our time eating, then wondered if we had actually forgotten to order a main. Nope! The owner chef is just attentive. He promptly cleared our table and let us know the main would arrive shortly. No rushing to get diners out the door. So take your time to enjoy the food. And the owner will gladly give the history of his background and the story behind the restaurant and his food (in Japanese, so it helps to understand). The meat platter had grilled chicken, beef, pork, and sausage. Everything was well seasoned, but the sauces on the plate were meant to be enjoyed, and by the end nothing was left on the plate. The vibrant green Chimichurri was so flavorful, the spicy jalapeño sauce went with everything, and the warm Queso cheese sauce made me want to drink it. And the salsa? WOW! Fresh salsa served in a small shot glass. This stuff should be bottled and sold to the masses. It was worthy of being eaten by itself. The Cassava fries had the perfect amount of starchiness to them. They could easily replace potatoes at any meal. There were mashed potatoes also. White pillows of starch and fluffiness topped with fresh string green beans. Oh, still haven't mentioned the meat. Succulent medium-rare beef, perfectly grilled chicken with crispy skin and tons of flavor. Chunks of well-seasoned pork, and a big juicy sausage bursting with juice and flavor. Mix and match the sauces to your hearts content. My only "complaint" is that I was not able to try everything on the menu in one sitting. Fortunately, Casa872 is only a 20 minute drive for me. So I plan to return soon and often. Bring your appetite, bring a date to enjoy the view across the bay, and bring Cash. No credit or other payment is accepted. Parking is plentiful. So whether driving south after seeing some northern sites, or stopping for lunch on the way to Motobu, Nakijin castle, or just enjoying a drive along the coast, don't wait as long as I did to enjoy Casa872. The atmosphere is cozy. The decorations have a story...just ask the owner. And the food is some of the best I've ever had!

2 weeks agoI visited about a month ago, and it was truly wonderful. It's in a place that makes you wonder why there's a restaurant here. First-time visitors had to drive like they were on the highway, making a dangerous turn once they found the entrance, which was a bit tricky to find. However, once you do, the owner is incredibly friendly, and the food is delicious. It was a family trip, and my mother can't handle salty or rich food, so Japanese food generally doesn't suit her, but she said this was the best restaurant in Japan. She kindly replied via DM with the opening status and location, but I regret not being able to say hello, so I'm leaving a review. I hope the owner prospers!

2 weeks agoAmazing food! Absolutely worth the drive! We stopped and each got a grilled chicken plate and a chicken empanada. Everything was so fresh. The sauces are out of this world. Definitely recommend! Restaurant was very clean and food was cooked to order. Beautiful location as well. Cash only.
