I wanted to eat paella, so I went into this restaurant inside the station.
Overall, the seafood didn't taste very good.
The atmosphere of the restaurant wasn't bad, but it was disappointing that the staff were not very energetic.
We had been eating Japanese food for almost 2 weeks so decided to come here for a change thinking a paella would be good considering the area has plenty of seafood. There’s not much wrong with the quality. Tasted like a paella should do. The problem was the size. If you’re used to Spanish paella’s for 4 being dished up on pans the size of dustbin lids you’ll be very disappointed. The pan is about the size of a large plate which wouldn’t be a problem if it was deep with seafood and rice but it was about 1cm thick. About enough for 1 person. Lesson learnt - stick to Japanese food when in Japan.
The shrimp in the shrimp ajillo was very sweet and delicious. I dipped bread in the oil, but be aware that bread is sold separately for 110 yen per slice (the menu lists two slices for 220 yen).
I also ordered the red beef version, but it wasn't as tasty as it looked in the photos. The meat was less raw than I expected, tasting more like regular roasted meat than raw. I'm sure there are many people who like this, but next time I'd rather buy horse sashimi instead.
And I forgot the name, but the sliced Iberian pork with pepper was so greasy that it made me slightly nauseous. Even if this dish is meant to be enjoyed for its oily content, I probably won't order it again.
In conclusion, my top recommendation is the shrimp ajillo. The roast beef is a close second. The Iberian pork is out of the question. I'll throw up.
The shrimp in the ajillo was very delicious.
