7 meses agoFor someone that likes craft beer and Italian style comfort food, I was very happy to come across this place.
I counted 31 beers on tap and a variety of wines and spirits and a large menu that had traditional comfort fare like pizza, pasta, various appetisers and mains, etc.
I had the bar seating which was fine, and there were numerous tables in the restaurant.
The beers were pretty good, and I liked the Marzen. The calzone was okay, but whilst it was beef and truffle, the amount of truffle seem to be minimal.
The Belgian fries were okay.

3 meses agoWent here with a friend.
We ordered food, and they asked if we wanted the pasta and the pizza at the same time. We said yes, they confirmed and said the pizza might take 40 min. So we would have to wait.
During waiting we ordered a small appetizer. And then we started waiting. We waited for around 40 minutes before the pizza arrived, but the pasta had not shown up yet, even if the pizza was what should have taken long.
We finished the pizza, but had to wait more than 20 minutes more before my pasta arrived. By then the pizza was long gone, and they had even cleared the plates.
The sizes where quite small, and the main dishes dit not really suffice as a full portion.
We had just started leaving when the appetizer arrived. One and a half hours after ordering. And it was something taking 1min to prepare, just plating items from the fridge and stocks. The cheese paté, turned out to just be cream cheese and with it came two lonely grissini, sprinkled lightly with olive oil and peppar. 1.5 h of waiting for a meal not worth it in any way.
Good place for beer, not especially for food even though it tasted ok.
Life's Abroad
3 años agoIf you’re a beer lover, Craftsman Sendai is the perfect place to visit. We dropped by around 6pm for dinner and scored a table, however it was quite busy and I’d recommend a booking if possible. The owner (manager) was very hospitable (and patient!) and the family had a great time. I especially loved the local beers which I hadn’t seen elsewhere. Could have easily spent the night working my way through the list. They offer tasting paddles too which made things a bit easier. My favourite was the Iwatekura Oyster Stout. The pizzas and tapas were the perfect accompaniments. Thanks Craftsman!

3 años agoJust finished an amazing dinner at Craftsman Sendai and was so impressed that I wanted to post a review right away.
First off, the beer selection is really impressive as they have over 30 varieties on tap and also have a selection of canned craft beer as well. Honestly I am happy whenever I can get a Hazy IPA but to have a choice of three different varieties was a very pleasant surprise.
That said, even though the beer selection was great the quality of the food was even better. The sausage was maybe the best I have ever had in my life and the pizza, desert, chicken wings, potato salad, etc were all super delicious.
Of course it's a bit expensive but well worth the cost considering the quality of the food, beer and service.

3 años agoCame for a late dinner around 9pm on a Wednesday and was able to get a seat for 3 easily.
They have 31 beers on tap with prices ranging from 600 yen to 1450 yen.
The food was also really nice, each dish well presented and tasty. The concept is local ingredients and they have a story with each item served.
Great service, food and drink.
Definitely worth visiting
