Café Habana TOKYO is a Cuban-Mexican restaurant that brought the flavor and casual cool of New York’s Nolita neighborhood to Tokyo. Since its opening in May 2016 in Daikanyama, the restaurant has sought to recreate the lively atmosphere, friendly vibe, and bold tastes that made the original so beloved.

When you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a stylish, relaxed space characterized by warm colors, Latin-inspired art, and décor that feels both contemporary and nostalgic. It’s not fine dining—it feels more like a vibrant diner where people hang out, talk, enjoy good food and music.

The menu emphasizes shareable, comfort-driven Cuban and Mexican-style dishes. Two standout items are the Grilled Corn (“corn on the cob” roasted and topped with Cotija cheese, chili powder, and lime) and the Cubano Sandwich, which features roast pork, ham, cheese, pickles, and mustard pressed inside special Cuban-style bread. Both are must-tries.

Beyond those, you can also build your own meals by selecting mains (meats or fish), rice and beans, or tortilla style (burrito, tacos), which gives flexibility depending on whether you want something casual or more substantial. There are also lighter sides, desserts, and cocktails—others enjoy the Mojito or Mexican beer.

Café Habana is located at Hikawa Building 1F, 2-11 Sarugaku-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. It’s about a 10-minute walk from both Shibuya Station and Daikanyama Station, which makes it easy to visit whether you’re coming from the city or more relaxed neighborhoods.

The hours are generous: open daily from about 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM, with food service generally until around 10:00 or 10:30 PM, depending on the day.

Pricing is mid-range. Many dishes (especially the shareables, sandwiches, corn, etc.) are in the ¥1,000–¥2,000 range, which is quite reasonable for Tokyo for this kind of food and atmosphere.

Overall, if you want a place that’s casual but full of personality, with good Cuban/Mexican fusion food, Café Habana Tokyo stands out. It’s perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner, for people who like to explore flavors rather than just comfort food.
