5 meses agoWent for dinner on a weekend. It was busy but not crowded. I ordered a carnitas taco, fish taco and margarita. The carnitas were well seasoned. The fish was a little bland but the sauces were good. The margarita was strong. Paid with a card. Will return.

9 meses agoThis place is awesome. Nailed the food and atmosphere. I didn't make a reservation but they were nice enought to squeeze us in at a corner table. The food was fantastic. I would expect Carne asada fries like that somewhere near San Diego and the tacos were really good. The Playlist was a perfect rap sheet of the hit I heard in the mid 2010s on the radio when I lived in California. This place is a 10 out of 10.

2 años agoI recently moved to Japan from Los Angeles so I never expected to find “California Style” Mexican food. There are a few Mexican restaurants you can find but none have the unique California style like Smash does. The first thing I noticed was the authentic decor of the restaurant that made me feel at home. The owner actually lived in San Diego and was inspired to bring that food culture back to Japan. Let me assure you the food and staff at Smash are all incredible. I loved the Tacos, Carne Asada Fries, Ceviche, and California Burrito! Also the Spicy Wings were surprisingly delicious with a unique coconut sauce. They have an Amazing selection of Tequila that tops any local rivals I have seen. Katsu-San had the best energy when delivering the shots and knows how to start the party! I only wished I lived closer to Tokyo because I would visit Smash every Week! Highly recommend to everyone! Smash is the best in Japan!

3 años agoStopped by the first time today and enjoyed a really good burrito and guacamole & chips. Washed it all down with a cold Dos Equis.
Staff and the owner were all very friendly. To top it off they had my favorite hot sauce to spice things up with!!
Will definitely stop by the next time I am in the neighborhood

3 años agoIkebukuro finally has some proper Mexican food. Food came fast and tasted great.
Would have liked to see some tortilla chips and salsa with the burritos, but overall we were very satisfied. Also, I'm from California and these burritos were about as close to California style as I've had in central Tokyo.
