Guzman y Gomez (GYG) is a fast casual Mexican restaurant located in Laforet Harajuku’s “GOOD MEAL MARKET” on the 2nd floor. It’s an Australian-born chain bringing a vibrant taste of Mexico to Harajuku, offering burritos, tacos, bowls, and more.
I've been there a few times, but I'll never go back.
The menu sign said they had hot cafe latte, but the menu at the register was blacked out and said they didn't have it.
When my child went to get it, they couldn't even tell me where the coffee milk or wet wipes were.
Normally, they'd either show me or ask if I needed it, right?
It's not cheap, so I thought they should have at least done that.
The light-brown-haired woman at the register around 1:30 PM was condescending, had a sulky attitude, and was completely unmotivated.
I work at Guzman! Sulk!
It was like that.
How dare she act all high and all, even though she's just a part-timer lol.
I'm in a wheelchair, and the counter here is high, so they knew I'd never be able to see it from a wheelchair, and they didn't even give me a menu.
My local Guzman in Tokyo has great service, but the one in Harajuku was a bit disappointing last time.
But my child loves Guzman, and he wanted to eat there again today, so it was empty and I had no choice but to go.
As someone who runs a restaurant, I can say that they always write about reviewing their response to reviews, but they never do anything about it.
It's clear that they have no intention of training people, and they just reply to reviews according to the manual, while secretly ignoring them.
The time will come when Guzman will withdraw from Japan.
I hope they will properly review their training by then.
However, as I was leaving, the other lady at the register noticed my child's leftover burrito and immediately asked if I needed a bag. She was very thoughtful, and I thought to myself, ``That's what a capable employee does!'' and that helped me to relax a little.
If it weren't for that lady, I would be happy with the local Guzman.
We went as a family. While my burrito was nice the children ordered chicken quesadillas unfortunately they arrived with little to no chicken. So not good value for money. There are lots of seats though
If it's junk food, go all out junk—I really dig the super global vibe here. Almost all the customers inside are foreigners! LOL
You hear English everywhere, and it's just plain fun even if you're just grabbing lunch alone.
Probably tourists, but it's great seeing people from all sorts of countries. Plus, these authentic burritos are the best! They have lots of different items, and I love the genuine Mexican feel too. Surprisingly, there's plenty of seating inside, so you can grab a quick lunch.
If it's junk food, I like the totally junk food and the fairly global atmosphere. Almost everyone inside is a foreigner! LOL
You can hear English everywhere, so even just having a normal solo lunch is fun.
I think they're tourists, but it's fun to see people from all over the world. And these authentic burritos are the best! They have a variety of items, but I love the authentic Mexican feel. There's surprisingly plenty of seating inside, so you can have a quick lunch.
