Definitely one of the best burgers I had. Fries were piping hot. Buns and patty were fresh from the grill.

The smash burger with cheese is heavenly.

A pity couldn't try the draft ogama. The canned one is 4.5/5 stars for me. Fruity and balanced.

Terrible customer service, overpriced pours, cockroaches, but good food.

We came for a second visit on a Thursday night, but wish we hadn't. The bartender made this experience truly awful and you could tell their heart is simply not in the job. No welcome, no thank you, blunt responses, and stood constantly on her phone behind the bar. Despite causing excessive wastage down the drain whilst pouring, she somehow then only poured a clearly unacceptable 4/5th of an already expensive "large" size stout and when I asked for it to be topped-up she told me "that's how it comes because the head went down". Surely this is not Kaigan Brewery's policy? I worked in cocktail/craft beer bars for over 10 years and have been to dozens of craft beer bars all over Japan and never felt the standards of service was this low before. Serious staff training is needed here.

So our visit was already regrettable when our burgers arrived, which were actually very good and super tasty. HOWEVER, as we are eating, a cockroach crawled up the wall next to our table by the sofas. It's really hard to enjoy any bar when customer service is very poor and the hygiene standards are questionable.

We won't be returning here and I might go as far as to avoid Kaigan's beers from now on in other places. A real shame as I enjoyed their recent article in the Japan Beer Times which is what reminded me to visit Coaster again.

I’ve eaten a lot of burgers around the world and these are top 10 lifetime. I would have never expected that while exploring a little outside of Tokyo. The burgers are perfectly cooked and balanced. Fries are done very very well. And the beer options from Kaigan are just so so good. Went here a few times and can’t wait to come back.

By far the best burger in Tokyo. Everything they do has a subtle twist that makes it different and better than other burgers, from the patty to the ketchup. It's up to you to find what the twist is.
Still, as may other places, it commits the first sin of burgers... Big burgers should be wide, not tall. Nevertheless, a must whenever you come to shimo.

Probably one of if not the best restaurant I went to during my 2 week trip from Japan. I got a double patty hamburger fries and a drink for under 3000 yen and it was probably the juiciest hamburger I’ve ever had not to mention this is one of the few places in Japan that lets you actually customize your meal which for me is important since I really don’t like tomato’s and pickles. if your in the area it’s definitely worth checking this place out
