ALDO Azabudai Hills is a refined Peruvian restaurant located on the 3rd floor of Azabudai Hills Tower Plaza in Tokyo. It is helmed by Chef Aldo Urata, a third-generation Japanese-Peruvian from Trujillo, Peru, who draws inspiration from the traditional recipes passed down from his grandmother and mother. After gaining experience with Mexican cuisine and other international flavors, he opened the original ALDO in Kita-Aoyama in 2016 and expanded to the Azabudai Hills location in November 2023. The restaurant features 30 seats, including both counter and table seating, and also offers a private room for more intimate gatherings. The interior is adorned with traditional Peruvian decorations, creating an exotic and welcoming atmosphere that transports diners straight to Peru. (azabudai-hills.com)

At lunchtime, the popular “Chef’s Lunch” (¥2,800) allows guests to enjoy two appetizers followed by a main course, with options such as beef, chicken, shrimp, or a quinoa burger. This menu is designed to provide an approachable introduction to authentic Peruvian flavors. (hatakotravel.com)

During dinner, ALDO offers a variety of à la carte dishes, including iconic Peruvian specialties such as Ceviche and Lomo Saltado. These are perfectly paired with Peruvian spirits like Pisco and a selection of Peruvian wines, allowing diners to experience the full spectrum of Peru’s culinary traditions. (s.tabelog.com)

I arrived around 2pm on a weekday and was seated right away. I had the shrimp cream stew from the lunch course, which allows you to choose your main dish. I was impressed by how surprisingly rich the cream was from the first bite. Even a little bit of it really brought out the shrimp flavor, and it was very rich and delicious. The rice portion may seem small, but it was quite dense and just the right amount. The appetizer, causa, was like a potato salad, and in addition to the basil sauce on top, there were three different sauces around the plate, which was really fun and delicious. Both were really delicious, and I'll definitely come back for more! However, I think it would be nice if they had a la carte options!

This is a nice and authentic Peruvian restaurant inside Azabudai Hills Tower. It can get quite busy, especially during lunchtime, and the space is limited. However, I had a pleasant lunch and really enjoyed the food. If you’re visiting with a stroller or young children, keep in mind that the space is small and it may not be the best option for families. *** This authentic Peruvian restaurant is located inside Azabudai Hills Tower. It gets especially busy during lunchtime, and the restaurant is a bit compact. However, the food was delicious and I enjoyed my lunch there in a pleasant atmosphere. Due to the limited space, this may not be the best option for those with strollers or small children.

You get what you pay for and even more! This was our first time out trying Peruvian Cuisine and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend and will definitely come back!

I had lunch at Aldo, a Peruvian restaurant inside Azabudai Hills. I had the Causa lunch (2,200 yen), which allows you to choose your main course. The potato salad appetizer had an impressive olive sauce that went perfectly with the spicy sauce. The salad was healthy, with chia seeds. The main course, shrimp stewed in cream (Bisco style), had plump shrimp with a savory miso flavor, and the cream had a mild flavor that made it easy to eat. Even a beginner to Peruvian cuisine could enjoy it!
