6 meses agoHidden gem Mexican restaurant! Came with a group of 5 with reservation. The ceviche and fish tacos are must tries. The birria tacos and steak and also good.
Service during the meal was great, when we arrived the table was a little dirty and we needed to clean ourselves though.

2 años agoAfter a day of shopping in Shibuya, my wife and I visited Mayaluz. The ambiance was vibrant, and the service was attentive. We started with soup, followed by homemade tortillas filled with cocktail shrimp, tuna with wasabi soy sauce, and spicy Cajun chicken—each more filling than expected. The braised beef tendon enchiladas topped with guacamole and a soft-boiled egg were a surprise. The classic nachos were decent. With a diverse menu and a great selection of beer and tequila cocktails, Mayaluz is perfect for gatherings or a quick drink after work!

1 año agoGood restaurant serving Mexican food with a Japanese twist.
The restaurant is on the 7th floor of Shibuya Hikarie shopping mall. Good lunch menu, excellent drinks menu.

6 años agoNot sure where the negativity is coming from, I had 3 different tacos, salad and soup and a mango mocktail. Everything was delicious. The soup was exquisite. It reminded me of home— I’m from Texas, and I haven’t found fine mexican dining or modern mexican in Tokyo. Was very excited to try! Not a corner burrito join or Tex mex with huge portions, but I felt the price was very fair and alcohol was priced cheaper than I expected. Light on dairy and heavy on masa (corn flour) which is healthy and authentic. Beautiful interior and nailed the music (which is so rare in Tokyo, let’s be honest) The tortillas were obviously handmade and a perfect texture and bite— they were flavored/naturally dyed in beautiful colors. Salad was very fresh and light with heirloom tomatoes and grilled zucchini. Service was wonderful. Can’t wait to return!
