2 meses agothis was truly the best meal of my life. my parents and I went to this steakhouse in gion a couple weeks ago and were amazed by the Yonezawa wagyu set, amazing service, and wonderful experience. the chef and staff were incredibly kind and knowledgeable! the set came with many courses of salad, soup, vegetables, rice, and dessert. we will be back as soon as possible and will be recommending to family and friends. this place deserves so much hype.

3 meses agoVery disappointing experience at Premium Wagyu Steak Hanasato Gion.
We paid ¥85,000, expecting a Michelin-level experience, but the food was only good, nothing memorable definitely not worth the price, even for Kobe beef.
The biggest issue is the restaurant itself: empty, poorly maintained, and with a neglected atmosphere. It feels abandoned rather than exclusive. We actually wanted to finish quickly and leave. Another couple nearby even decided to move/leave, which says a lot.
Service was kind and attentive, but unfortunately, that’s the only positive.
Overall, this place charges like fine dining but delivers far below expectations. Kyoto has far better options at this price point.

7 meses agoSimply fantastic! We were the only ones there for an early dinner but still super. The chef was awesome and the food was out of this world. Two couples, and we had such a fun time. I would highly recommend for a japanese steakhouse experience. The best is that you don't have to do the set menu. Our foody friends did, but my wife and I just did soup, steak, and fried rice. We all got what we wanted and it was delicious.

10 meses agoGood place to try Kobe and Yonezawa
beef with authentic teppanyaki cooking. The beef is very tasty, among the best I’ve tried. The atmosphere is pleasant, though the space can feel a bit crowded and prices are on the higher side. Still, it’s a unique experience.

2 años agoTo say the staff was kind is an understatement. They were so accommodating and patient despite the language barrier. We had a set menu and it was delicious! I would totally recommend any of the set menus. They have some that come with fish and some without. We didn't have reservations and they seemed to have spots for those who may not have been able to make a reservation, but it was a very small amount and we feel lucky to have been able to enjoy Wagyu the way it was meant to. We left full and happy!
